Contemporary Cottage | Vermont Design: Elliott Meyers Design
A heartfelt renovation project in South Burlington that presented a unique challenge: photographing the designer’s own kitchen. When Elliott Meyers Design transformed their personal space into a warm, contemporary cottage retreat, the goal was to capture an approachable kitchen that invites you to linger.
Photographing a designer’s personal project requires particular sensitivity to storytelling, as the emotional connection to the space runs deep. The challenge was translating that intimate, lived-in warmth into marketing imagery that would resonate with potential clients while honoring the personal nature of the design.
This project holds special significance as Elliott Meyers Design was my very first interior design client, marking the beginning of a collaborative relationship that has spanned nearly a decade. The trust built over years of working together allowed for a more nuanced approach to capturing not just the beautiful contemporary finishes, but the soul of a space that truly embodies the “cottage” lifestyle.
